Lisa Frank makeup is not only happening, but now ready for pre-order – and the baby Mila Kunis in us is freaking out. How many middle school afternoons did we spend daydreaming about the brand’s psychedelic dolphin pencil cases, or those stickers with dogs hanging out in ice cream sundaes? How badly did we want to flaunt one of those acid wash, Dalmatian-print backpacks during recess? Answer: very.
With her surreal, neon designs, Lisa Frank gave us the small but crucial dose of confidence we needed during puberty, even if it was just in the form of a scrunchie. The brand was unapologetically fun and optimistic (basically the genesis of #extra), and there’s something majorly gratifying about being able to re-indulge our adult selves in Frank's world – which is why we nearly lost it when a clothing collab with all-over print company Rage On was launched last year, bringing us all the rainbow unicorn sweaters and leggings that were missing from our closets (and Jon Snow's).
It seems like we weren't the only ones whose nostalgia went into overdrive when the Lisa Frank line hit, because for some people, the original selection of fluorescent loungewear and accessories wasn't enough: makeup company Glamor Dolls has Kickstarted a campaign to launch Lisa Frank-inspired beauty products, including lip balms, highlighters, eyeliners and a "Unicorn Angled Blush Brush" to caress your face.
Not only will the products themselves be inspired by the gloriously OTT designs of Lisa Frank – see: the sparkle highlighter and glitter nail polishes – but the packaging itself will take cues from the artist's archive, making for one dazzling makeup kit. Oh, and did we mention that all products will be cruelty free and vegan?
