4 Trends From MFW We Can't Wait To Try Immediately
Dreamy looks from our favorite designers.
Milan Fashion Week has drawn to a close, and what a week! It looks like Gucci’s Alessandro Michele has injected the once serious, stoic city with a dose of fun-loving, pop-colored magic. And we want some of it. Here are our favorite trends from the Italian runways that we can’t wait to start wearing asap.
It was a good day for us when we first learned that a new Italian brand called For Restless Sleepers declared pajamas as not only acceptable, but super stylish day wear. After a few cautious trials-and-errors (without many errors) from fashion’s most daring bloggers and trend-setters, we saw this trend go through the roof, with both men and women rocking the casual, palazzo-style pantsuit look at almost every show. This is one slumber party we’ll dress up for.
Our hearts melted a bit when we saw Marni’s perfectly pointed patent leather mules, and we kept spying them wherever we looked. While we’re particular fans of the block-heel design, we are also excited about the huge variety of colors and styles this slipper-style (are you seeing a theme yet?) shoes come in. 1) Aquilano.Rimondi (image: Vogue.com) 2) Marni (image: Vogue.com) 3) Missoni (image: Wwd.com)
It seems like statement earrings are always in style, but this time we really mean it! When Piccone.Piccone sent its models down the runway in what looks like Delpozo’s designs that we only just saw a few weeks prior in New York, we sussed that even designers who perhaps tried to avoid the trend ended up giving in. And with so many holidays (Thanks Giving, my birthday, Christmas, NYE) coming up, everyone is sure to have some occasion to wear theirs on. 1) Marni (image: Vogue.com) 2) Missoni (image: Vogue.com) 3) Piccone.Piccone (image: Vogue.it)
We’re all pretty accustomed to the term athleisure by now, but this is a side to it we’ve hitherto not seen: high-fashion anoraks. Traditionally the reserve of your dad on family vacations, it seems like the practical, lightweight, waterproof jackets have finally been given It-status. At last, we can be dry and stylish when it rains, thank you, Donatella! 1) MSGM (image: Vogue.com) 2) Max Mara (image: Vogue.co.uk) 3) Versace (image: Businessoffashion.com)
